iConcertCal for iTunes

So, we found this wicked little iTunes plug-in that we think you'll love.  It's called iConcertCal, available at iconcertcal.com.  What it does is look at your list of artists in iTunes, and then, when that artist is playing, it notifies you when that artist has a concert coming up or a new CD coming out (see picture).

And, yes, it will tell you when Cocktail Revolution is playing too... but even if you decide that you hate the Cocktail Revolution and eliminate us from your playlist (which will never happen), it's still a great little feature to have to let you know when your favorite bands will be coming to your area.  Check it out.  It's free!

New Website Design

As we zero in on the official release of the new CD, "better reception", we've redesigned the website.  It's now very low-tech.  We're literally writing down updates to the website long hand, sticking them a bulletin board with push pins and post-it notes, taking a photo of the bulletin board, and posting it on the web.

I'm sure someone's done this before, but we're pretty psyched about it.  We're also still ironing out the kinks (such as how color correction works, how to make each photo line up EXACTLY so the web surfing experience is flawless) but we are pretty psyched about the new direction... particularly with the low-tech theme of the new CD ("better reception" refers to a coat hanger used for a television antennae), and our low-tech approach to what is traditionally an electronic music genre.

Anywhoo... take a look at the new website at www.cocktailrevolution.net.

in the Colorado Music Buzz

When it rains, it pours.  Here's an article about our upcoming CD release party in the Colorado Music Buzz...

Cocktail Revolution in the Rocky Mountain News...

David Flomberg wrote an impressive article on El Chapultapec, but it talks quite a bit about the evening's entertainment, The Cocktail Revolution.  To read it, go here...

Welcome

Hello Cocktail Revolution fans and web surfers.

We had a "news" page up on our website forever, and I almost never once added any news... too tough to hop on Dreamweaver every time I thought of something to say (particularly since Dreamweaver only worked on my old machine.)

Also, when it's called a "blog", I feel like I have the right to write more casually, and don't have to worry about proper grammarness and proper spelllingg and run-on sentences, and beginning those bad grammar, poorly spelled, run-on sentences with words like "also" or "anyway".  Anyway, I'm hoping this blog format works better for news and info on what's happening with the Cocktail Revolution.

First off, mark your calendars for September 20th.  That will be the release of Cocktail Revolution's newest (and first full length) album.  We're going to have a kick-ass CD release party at Jazz at Jack's that night, with lots of special guests, free stuff, free shwag (I'm told "stuff" and "shwag" are two different things), free doo-dads, and free spliffelwonks.  Plus drink specials, a kick-ass visual show to accompany our stage performance, DJ Check-one (spinning mixes of our stuff), and more.

To get free admission to the party, go to CocktailRevolution.net/invite and sign up.  We'll send you an actual invite in the mail!

Anyway, that's about it... oh wait... here's what the new CD cover looks like:

And that's it.  Thanks for reading.
